FODEMI signs Agreement with Christian Evangelical Church
An Agreement to Improve Lives Upon request of the Christian Evangelical Church in Quito, FODEMI signed an agreement for offering credits to members of this church community. After receiving an extensive training from FODEMI, the church’s Pastor, David Vega, has been given the responsability of selecting the clients and giving information about the costs and conditions of the loans.
FODEMI hopes to keep increasing its support to these communities, especially in the sector of Atucucho, where the majority of its inhabitants are manual laborers with very low levels of income. By offering micro loans FODEMI hopes to be able to improve the lives of these people and their families. The following are testimonies of clients who are benefiting from the agreement between FODEMI and their church:
Maria Romo: “It is a true blessing, because there is never enough in our business. I needed money for my store. I received $250 and I invested it in products for my store. With thanks to God, everything has gone well and I have been able to make the payments, and my business has grown as well.”
Her micro business is a little store selling home supplies.
Luis Aníbal Robalino: “The loans have helped us a lot, we have invested the money an d everything has gone well. We have been able to make the payments every month, and we do not have to use loan sharks anymore.” Luis Aníbal works in informal commerce, selling products such as sunglasses, belts, and watches on Avenida Amazonas, one of the main streets in Quito.
